42. We Did Our Best?

Has your business missed a goal and what you heard was, "but we did our best!"

The reality is that people actually do only as much as they were willing to do. 

That sounds a little harsh, but it's absolutely what happens every day in businesses around the country.

In fact, "we did our best" is what I consider a Dangerous Phrase because it's hard to rebuke it. But when you approach it with a mindset to learn why and really dig into the causes, you'll find that something was amiss.
